Uvita Costa Rica

Uvita is a quiet little town on the pacific coast who’s claim to fame is a beach that from above it appears to be shaped like a whale tail. Which seems quite impressive and rare, but we really don’t know any better. (but honestly, how many whale tail beaches can there really be in the world, right?!?) We walked out on the tail at low tide, and H got carried away (as she is sometimes known to do) and sliced her toe to pieces. It was a little like a scene from a Tarantino film, amazingly bright red blood gushing against grey-ish sand… Very pretty and quite disturbing all at once.

We stayed at the Flutter-by House, an awesome little Backpacker’s spot right off the beach. Here we met with the owner sisters, and we got some tips as to how to live our trip as inexpensively as possible (this requires R to gain her hair shears and get to some financial workings and H to get her master SCUBA certification so she can be employable along the coasts on our way down). We will be chefs and hostel-finding assistants for any lost travelers and such. You will all be updated as we figure these details out 🙂 !
