This is a picture of us at the event that started it all.
R often has no idea what she is doing. The mere idea of emailing a grip of people while traveling indefinitely overwhelms her to such an extent that she decided that a weekly blog update would be simpler. Additionally the idea of creating weekly posts is also too much. This is why there are the following collaborators:
H does not like to make decisions. This is why the trip is “indefinite” with a goal of “south”. H is very likely to become purposefully bald while on this trip. She is also a photographer and scientist, which can make her seem awkward. She is.
G is like a guest star that appears from time to time and makes all the good jokes. Except instead of guest star, read “tired traveler”, and instead of good jokes, read “crazy activities in foreign countries”. G’s one requirement is that there is a birthday travel section and that it is epic. DONE!
M will frequently be heard to say “of course you should travel through Latin America with no plans and only a basic understanding of Spanish, that sounds like fun!”, “no, I haven’t heard from the girls for a while, but I’m sure they’re still alive”, and/or “why yes, I would love to come and join you girls on the 2-day suspension bridge hike over a ravine”. This is not M’s first choice, but as her customary role was taken she has consented to give it a try.
F will be the person in charge of checking this site weekly to ensure that his offspring are still breathing. This task has been assigned because rather than taking up his usual role as the chill parent, F has decided to play the “I want my daughters to be alive longer than me” card. Which is appreciated and noted. F is also invited to join in the travels. Note that F is bungee jumping here… really? You’re the “Play It Safe” parent now?

Yep, totally loving this! I am 100% living vicariously through your adventures. And I really hope you manage to follow your eponymous rule throughout.
Scott! Can you believe that we have known each other for 10 years next year. Madness!
We are hoping to keep to our Rule as well, and if you think about joining us, just let us know! 🙂
Oh, anonyous is Sherree!
Sherree, I miss your giggle my friend! Hope life in Santa Cruz is wonderful and that you have soul in your eyes! If not, you are welcome to bring your daughter and join us in South America; get down here already!
I have been interviewing awesome people to try and decide who I really want to live vicarious through. You Crazazzies got the job! You are my Hero, Girl! Be safe and I hope you continue to have the time of your life!
I love this people! I can’t wait to read more and more stuff!
Love from Spain.
Maria!
I was hoping to hear from you this weekend… I hope you had a fantastic weekend in NYC.
Miss you little sister!
I was sick all week in NYC. My voice was horrible and I talked like a man all the time. I will call you before you leave for your Latin American try.
Love ya!
I’m sorry you’re sick my dear! I hope you had a great time in NYC, and keep in touch even if we don’t meet the talk by the 20th deadline 🙂
Oh and that there will never be a picture of you without your sunglasses… well at least while outside. Speaking of which you should probably take some extra pairs.
I was unsure if you wanted that HUGE number disclosed for all to see 😉
& that’s very true. I am incapable of being outside without them… I may need you to bring me an extra pair or two at some point.
That number is not so huge…
You forgot to mention that it is an epic 30rdy birthday!!
