Hello all!
It’s Tuesday! And it’s been a while… But for all of you who still get our notifications, I thought I would let you know that four of us: myself, H, G, and F were all together again in August.
There was still Spanish being spoken, and there was a lot of adventure, but we were all gathered in southern California to watch as F got older, which he did quite well.
We had only the weekend to enjoy each other’s company (unlike the week or more we had become used to while visiting in the more southern Latin America), so we spent more time picking on each other and causing trouble to make up for our lack of time. G was the ringleader, as the oldest is supposed to be, and we giggled and enjoyed each other all the more for it!
G never wasted a moment to envelop me in some sort of show of affection, such as the reenactment of a glow worm (or bug) hug, you remember, from the 80’s?
All the while Colby, my precious puppy would bark his head off. He has always been good about barking at anyone who tries to cuddle with me, almost like he knows how uncomfortable it makes me! But he’s getting older now, so mostly he just loves his nap time:
So we also spent our time hanging with my puppy,
unless G was motivated enough to get us out of the house and onto our adventures. All of the good pictures of these outings were captured by G (and stolen by me to place here) because she is the only responsible one of us who documents the awesomeness in our lives.
So we went out to the horse races!
It was wonderfully enjoyable, there is something very beautiful about watching horses run together at top speeds. And the small bets we placed without really knowing how it’s done was pretty exciting, too (except G kept picking horses who hurt themselves, and then feeling horrible about her jinxing them… you picked some winners too Gis!).
Then the adventure got picked up a notch and we all went to enjoy some jetpack adventure sports. You know, the kind where you strap a modified skidoo to your back and use the water propulsion to push you up and forward?
Ya, none of us knew about it either until G signed us up for the adventure! F was a natural (that’s right, play it safe F was a natural at jetpacks!) and not only got the highest out of the water than any of us, but also the most time to consider boarding one of the yachts we were flying beside! He didn’t, of course, but from these two pictures you can tell how easy it would have been.

It was really, really good times. Stressful, hard work for your arms to control that water pressure, and a little scary, but very fun!
We went out to dinner as an entire family, and thanks to a request from M, we had F’s favorite ice cream cake (pistachio almond Baskin & Robbins turtle pie) with our best rendition of an elephant on top.
Not very good, I’ll admit. But we had to gift the elephant as a belated 30 year thank you to F, who had given M an elephant cake on her birthday shortly after I was born… because sometimes, you need a random elephant drawing on your birthday I guess.
And then we went our separate ways. G is back home in Hawai’i, I’m traveling south again (through Peru!), H is visiting her people and relaxing for a minute in California, and F is back at work (not that he really took a break, but I’m not sure he even knows how to do that). I will be arriving in Cuzco in the beginning of October, and I have decided to blog weekly on my personal location until I can convince H to come back down south to join me…
Much love our people and hope you meet you all again (soon?)!
